Dexter.

So okay, I have this wacky theory about the show Dexter that he is in fact not a sociopath who can’t process emotion. He’s just been told that over and over by his dad so he believes it’s true. What actually exists as his conscience is masked by Harry’s “rules” but it’s actually… his conscience! I mean he seems to feel legitimately bad when he kills some one not knowing if they’re bad or not. It seems to eat at him until he knows. He also ends up having genuine affection for Rita and her kids. And Lumen. Just saying, that would be a wacky series finale. Harry was just a crazy cop who trained the perfect bad guy stopping machine (also, remember how unjust Harry thought the system was? And how he is presented as kind of off mentally himself?).

Yeah. I mean I know it’s a long shot. I’ve just been thinking about it.
